All Support & Advice Omagh Enterprise Company Ltd

Profile

Omagh Enterprise Company Ltd

Contact

Omagh Enterprise Company exists to increase prosperity and employment opportunities by creating a favourable environment for business development in Omagh and District.

Social Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP)

The Social Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP) is intended to follow on from the Community Business Start-Up Programme (CBSUP), the ‘Social Entrepreneurship Programme’ – reflects the social economy policy environment and it should be further acknowledged that the SEP is a ‘niche’ programme, targeting a particular sector of the market, rather than a generic volume enterprise programme.
The programme is delivered at varioius levels - outlined below.

Enquiry Development
This is available for those groups who have not availed of pre-start support already for their specific social economy start-up idea, for example through, the LSP’s. The Enquiry Development component will cover pre-business support including advice on business concept, researching the market and financing the project.

Core ‘Start-Up’ Capability Support
This will encompass:-
• One-to-one mentoring to groups in terms of Business Plan Development
• Modular sessions in terms of Start-Up Development with follow-up one-to-one mentoring and
• Modular sessions in terms of Post-start Operational Aftercare with follow-up one-to-one mentoring over a period of up to one year after start-up.

Post-Start Strategic Mentoring
 - this involves capacity support centred on strategic development issues (e.g. growth, export, strategic linkages and competitiveness issues) provided by experienced business mentors.

Transitionally Mentoring Support
This is to be primarily, but not exclusively, targeted at groups who have secured DSD Modernisation Funds. The mentoring will cover subjects such as partnership working, organisational development, corporate governance and managing growth/ maximising performance. Tailored mentoring content will be agreed in line with the nature of the project funded by the Modernisation Fund. Support will be delivered over the period of one year and timed to coincide with support from the Modernisation Fund (where applicable).

The programme is delivered in a province wide arena - with Omagh Enterprise Company managing the programme in the west of the province covering all of the Tyrone and Fermanagh counties.
