LEARC (January 2012) is recruiting for another course leading to an Intermediate license from Ofcom. All nine who did this course a year ago passed and four (so far) went on to pass the advanced examination for a Full License. Contact the Secretary.
Most LEARC members are licensed with a call sign issued by Ofcom to operate an amateur radio station. Their hobby is making local, national and international contacts with other radio amateurs, by voice and morse code, and technical activities, construction of equipment, aerials, etc.
In 2009, the Club set up the Fermanagh mobile repeater station GB3CP. Our 31st annual rally is in SHARE on Sunday 1 April 2011 - easy to remember!.
The Club HQ is in SHARE. the scene of its successes and growth in 2009-2011. These merited the Northern Ireland Club of the Year Award, twice, and the UK Club of the Year runner-up Award. LEARC members also got cups from the Irish Radio Transmitters Society.
LEARC runs courses and examinations for amateur radio licenses from Ofcom. with 43 recent successes -30 Foundation 9 Intermediate and 4 Full license. Fermanagh's successful amateur radio club is well known across these islands, welcomes more members interested in amateur radio and getting a license.
