Summer of Cultures 2010 at Enniskillen Castle Museums – Events taking place during August 2010 at Enniskillen Castle Museums include:
• Tuesday 10 – Friday 13 August 2010, 9.30 am – 3.30 pm: CULTURE-ALL Summer School. Summer School of activities. Suitable for children aged 8 – 12 years. Prior booking essential. £25.00 per child for 4 days.
• Monday 16 – Friday 20 August 2010, 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm, FUN-FOR-ALL Summer School. Summer School of art & craft activities. Suitable for children aged 6 – 12 years. Prior booking essential. £2.50 per session or £10.00 for the week.
• Monday 30 August 2010, 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm, Family Fun Day. An afternoon of fun and culture for all the family. Fermanagh’s traditions, multiculturalism, workshops, arts & crafts, music and more, admission free.
There are also a number of exhibitions and activities taking place during August including:
•Floating World Book Workshops, 1 – 29 August 2010.
•Medieval Siege Machine Models, Saturday 7 August 2010.
•Living History – Medieval Food, Saturday 14 August 2010.
•Living History - Medieval Quill Writing, Saturday 21 August 2010.
•Guided Tour of Enniskillen Castle, Saturday 28 August 2010.
•The Dunkirk Deliverance continues until 30 September 2010.
•Whitewash and Thatch continues until 12 September 2010.
•The Fermanagh Hearth continues until 12 September 2010.

Managing the Challenge’ of living with a long term condition

Learn how to self manage your long term health conditions: Asthma, Arthritis, Epilepsy, MS, Depression, Diabetes, ME etc with this FREE 6 week training course. Learning to manage your condition will significantly improve your quality of life. The ‘Managing the Challenge’ of living with a long term condition course will teach you skills to manage all aspects of life with a long term condition including pain management, relaxation, exercise, diet, relationships with health professionals and building confidence.
The course is delivered to a group of 12-18 people over 6 weeks in 6 consecutive 2 hour sessions. It is delivered by 2 trainers that work and/or care for people with long term conditions and that have received training to deliver the course. The course is for anyone over the age of 18 with any long term health condition that is impacting on the quality of their life and would like to learn new skills in how to self manage their condition. Alzheimer's Society calls for volunteers in the Fermanagh area

Alzheimer's Society is hosting a volunteer open evening on Tuesday 14 September from 7pm to 9pm.
The charity is keen to recruit volunteers in the local area to help with fundraising, awareness raising and supporting local services.
Alison Rankin, Volunteer Development Officer for Alzheimer's Society, said: 'We will be delighted to welcome people of all ages to this event, where they can learn more about voluntering opportunities within the charity. |
