Irish Central Border Area Network (ICBAN)

Contact

ICBAN, the Irish Central Border Area Network based in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, is a cross-border funding and development organisation representing ten local authorities, five on either side of the border. Established in 1995 to act as a vehicle for cross-border co-operation at local authority level and to act as a conduit for the articulation of issues of common concern within the region. The ICBAN Partnership currently has responsibility for delivering part of the INTERREG IIIA Programme and has invested over €20 million in the central border area to date, funding nearly 60 projects throughout the region (across a wide range of sectors from tourism development to robotics engineering). ICBAN also plays a crucial role in facilitating initiatives aimed at addressing the strategic needs of the region in terms of sustainable economic, social and cultural development through partnership, lobbying and supporting initiatives.
