Festivals should be a series of activities within a condensed time period of at least one day in length (ie 8-10 hours).  Activities are usually different but related and festivals may already be well established, 'emerging' over the last two or three years or they may be new ideas developed to meet a specific need or opportunity identified within the community.

Grants are normally in the range £2,500 to £10,000.  Up to 80% of total allowable costs may be covered, although, in most instances the contribution will be significantly less.

Community festivals must be initiated and led by a formally constituted community organisation or a community led partnership.  Events must be scheduled to take place within the period from the earliest date for the award of grant (1 July 2010) to 30 September 2010.

The 2010 deadline for receipt of applications is 9 April 2010 (noon).
