Comic Relief – BBC Region Grants Criteria 30 June 2009, Comic Relief – BBC Region Grants Criteria

This is a special one off grant that is available for a community based project or service located in the Northern Ireland region. A total grant of £28,500 is available for a Northern Irish project and will be paid in two instalments in 2009 and 2010. This is an opportunity to identify and showcase an excellent organisation in Northern Ireland that is bringing about positive and lasting change in the lives of poor and disadvantaged people. The grant recipient should be able to use this large two year grant to great effect.

One Small Step 15 June 2009, One Small Step

The One Small Step grant fund encourages initiatives that stimulate people into action to build a peaceful future. It is about spreading the message that we are all responsible for developing a peaceful society in Northern Ireland. The fund will support small local projects organised by individuals that encourage people into action. Individuals who wish to do something specific to further the concept and principles of One Small Step are eligible. Applicants should have the support and backing of a community based organisation or group through which they can develop their work and manage and grant monies. They must be able to provide references for their work.

The Tudor Trust 09 June 2009, The Tudor Trust

The Tudor Trust is one of the largest independent grant making trusts in the UK. Under their guidelines for 2009-2011, the Trust will make grants across their established funding areas: Youth, Older People, Community, Relationships, Housing, Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Learning, Financial Security and Criminal Justice. The Trust makes grants in the region of £19 million per year and aims to support smaller community, voluntary and charitable organisations. Grants can take the form of core funding (including salaries and running costs), development funding, project grants or capital grants for buildings or equipment. Events Grant Funding Programme 08 June 2009, Events Grant Funding Programme

The Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure (DCAL) invities applications for funding for events taking place from 1st October 2009 - 31st March 2010, under the following two funding streams: a) Events Growth Fund (EGF) b) Major Events Fund (MEF) Funding under the Events Growth Fund (EGF) aims to assist events to develop into a major or international event and/or become sustainable within 3years of receiving funding. Funding under the Major Events Fund (MEF) is to assist large events that will attract significant out of state visitors and media coverage. All events must secure private sector sponsorship to be eligible for funding. The closing date and deadline for receipt of applications is Noon - Friday 10th July 2009.

Children in Need is an annual charity appeal organised by the BBC. Every year the BBC dedicates one evening of programming to showcase events aimed at raising money for charities working with young people in the UK. Fun and Friendship is a new programme from BBC Children in Need for 2009. The programme is specifically targeted towards organisations working with disabled young people between 12 and 18 years. It is a three year programme and is additional to the Main Grants programme
