FVC (Fermanagh Volunteer Centre) can assist in a number of different ways - assist with the recruitment, selection, support and training of volunteers - by registering volunteers needs and referring suitable potential volunteers to placement organisations. - help develop new projects involving volunteers. - provide basic administration for volunteer led organisations or projects. - provide training for volunteers and volunteer involving organisations. - Conduct Access NI checks in a partnership programme with placement organisations ensuring that those volunteering with children and vulnerable adults are adequately vetted as part of the recruitment process. COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING SCHEME, SMALL GRANTS PROGRAMME Each financial year FVC will allocate monies on behalf of the Department of Social Development's, Voluntary Community Unit to support volunteer involving organisations. This is to provide for volunteer expenses and training. Applications are invited from all volunteer involving organisations that meet the annual criteria. We especially welcome applications from organisations involving volunteers mainly comprised of unemployed, disabled, older (50 years plus), younger (16-25 years old) or ethnic minorities. RESOURCE LIBRARY FVC have collected relevant literature for almost any task in managing within the voluntary and community sectors. These materials are available on loan to registered organisations to ensure they have access to the latest information. It assists in designing and delivering programmes, community development, publishing, legal matters, governance, employment etc. This list is not exhaustive and we are constantly adding to it. POLICY DEVELOPMENT/CONSULTATIONS FVC operate at local support level within County Fermanagh. We also work with communities that have cross border links and therefore have some recourse to work cross-border. We also are representing the county on the Volunteer Centres network of Ireland, and the Volunteer Centre Network for Northern Ireland. Locally we participate in many networks and committees representing the interests of our registered organisations and clients in addition to special interest groups. We also host consultations on relevant policy documents and respond to govern policy consultations on behalf of ourselves and clients. FVC also have a lobbying role to ensure that volunteerism and volunteers are well positioned with particular emphasis on making volunteering a quality experience for both volunteers and placement organisations. ORGANISATION/GROUP START UP FVC have been involved with many communities (geographical or issue based) at the initial start up stage. This is where a group of individual volunteers come together out of a common purpose or to fill a gap in current services or to fill a need. Whatever the issue, if there is a need to be filled and a group of volunteers willing to respond to that need, FVC will offer assistance and support on a continued basis to get a group formed, put in appropriate structures, promote the group and identify resources. We will offer training and assistance in addition to feeding relevant information into the group. Therefore FVC have a key capacity building role in volunteer led projects. TRAINING COURSES AVAILABLE THROUGH FVC - Child Protection Training - Community Capacity Building - Peace and Reconciliation Training. For more information on any of the above mentioned services, or if you have a specific need not listed here please contact the staff at FVC.
