Ernevale Beacon Centre is situated on Mill Street, a quiet location within easy walking distance from Enniskillen town centre.
Our aim is to provide a safe environment, support, information and stimulation to young adults with mental health problems. Often members of the group are faced with difficulties in accessing education, training and employment. In challenging this, there is a strong emphasis on personal and social development, in particular raising self awareness and self-esteem. It is hoped that with the correct investment, members of the group are adequately equipped towards living more independently.
Activities
There is always something going on in Ernevale. Here's a selection:
Gardening Project - The centre has some keen gardeners who take great care to ensure our garden is always looking it's best. See the photo of our back garden above.
Walking Group - The walking group is user led. Each week the member's plan where they are going to go, sometimes taking in an area of particular beauty or of special interest. This is often followed by lunch outside the centre when we can discuss the day's events.
Cooking - Through our 'Cook It' club members are introduced to the basic principles of nutrition and learn how to cook basic food that is both tasty and nutritious.
Health & Beauty - The Primary Care Book Prescription Scheme encourages members sign up with their local library where they will have access to a range of books for ‘helping yourself to better health’.
