DRUMGALLON AREA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION Drumgallon Area Community Association has been successfully operating for the past nine years. Over this period of time dedicated committee members have brought about some changes in the area. The improvements are not always easy to see but nonetheless they are very important. The majority of residents have lived in this area for ten years or more, thus providing a more stable environment. The aims of the association are as far as possible, to improve the general well being of the area in which we all live. To run “when feasible” activities suitable for the greater population. We are in the process of refurbishing the playground with new equipment added each year. We are currently running both painting and drawing classes in Jones Memorial Primary School for all ages of the area. This has been successfully run for the past two years, financed by The FLSP, and shall continue to run. Annually we organise boat trips for both children and senior citizens and disabled members of the area. We also run Christmas parties and Santa's Grotto each year. At Halloween we provide the children of the area with free snacks to enjoy at the bonfire. We continue to search for grants to enable us to move forward to improve the area in which we live and hope to improve on the good neighbour award that we won in 2002. |
